ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರದ ಶಾಂತಮ್ಮ ಲೇಔಟ್ ಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಕಚೇರಿ ಎದುರಿದ್ದ ಮರಗಳನ್ನ ಏಕಾಏಕಿ ಕಡಿದು ಸಾಗಿಸಿದ ಆರೋಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿರಿಯ ಅರಣ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗೆ ವಿವರ ಕೇಳಿ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಸಚಿವ ಈಶ್ವರ ಖಂಡ್ರೆ ಟಿಪ್ಪಣಿ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಐವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ದೈತ್ಯಾಕಾರವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದಿದ್ದು ಮರಗಳ ಕೊಂಬೆ ಕತ್ತರಿಸುವ ಬದಲು ಮರಗಳ ಬುಡಗಳನ್ನೇ ಕಟ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ರೈನ್ ಲ್ಯಾಂಡ್ & ಪರಿಸರ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳು ಆರೋಪ ಮಾಡಿತ್ತು. ಮರಗಳ ದಿಮ್ಮಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 19ರಂದು ಲಾರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಗಿಸುವ ಫೊಟೋಗಳು ವೈರಲ್ ಆಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತ ಸಚಿವರು ಮೂರೇ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವರದಿ ನೀಡುವಂತೆ ಆದೇಶ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ನಿಯಮಾನುಸಾರ ಮರ ಕಡಿತಲೆಗೆ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಮರ ಕಡಿಯಲು ಆದೇಶ ಪಡೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆಯೇ? ಕಡಿದ ಮರಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾವ ಡಿಪೋಗೆ ಸಾಗಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ವಿವರವನ್ನು 3 ದಿನಗಳ ಒಳಗಾಗಿ ಈ ಕಚೇರಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಚಿವ ಖಂಡ್ರೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ
Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre has ordered a senior forest official to submit a detailed report within three days regarding the alleged felling of trees in front of the Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) office in Shivamogga.
The Rainland and Conservation Communities accused the forest department of chopping down giant trees, over 50 years old, instead of trimming branches. Photos of logs being transported on September 19 went viral.
Minister Khandre directed the CCF to explain why the trees were felled, whether permission was obtained, and where the logs were sent.
In a statement, Khandre said, “Information has been received about the felling of several giant trees on the CCF office premises in Shivamogga and logs being transported. I have instructed the CCF to submit a comprehensive report within three days, detailing the reasons for felling, whether an application was submitted and permission obtained, and where the logs were transported”
