A mischievous monkey stole a mobile phone from a staff member at private hospital in Shivamogga and climbed a nearby tree. The primate’s antics drew a crowd as it sat on a branch for over an hour, holding the phone to its chest, examining the screen, and even mimicking phone calls.
The monkey’s behavior sparked public fascination, with onlookers gathering to witness the spectacle. Some attempted to capture the scene on their phones, while others discussed strategies to retrieve the stolen device. The commotion caused traffic congestion as motorists stopped to observe.
Eventually, hospital staff successfully coaxed the monkey onto the building’s roof by offering it a banana. As the monkey took the fruit, a sudden burst of firecrackers startled it, causing it to drop the phone. The monkey then fled with the banana, leaving the phone behind.
