Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar B. Khandre has announced that trekking activities in the state, which were previously suspended, will resume tomorrow, October 3. This decision comes after thousands of people visited the Kumar Parvata trekking path on January 26 and 27.
To manage the large number of trekkers and ensure safety, the forest department will limit the number of participants on each trekking path. To facilitate this, an online ticketing system will be launched tomorrow, allowing trekkers to book tickets for various trekking paths across the state on a single website.
Minister Khandre made this announcement during a wildlife conservation walk organized by the forest department from Bengaluru’s Cubbon Park to Lalbagh, as part of the 70th Wildlife Week celebrations. The online ticketing system will be inaugurated at the minister’s office in Vikas Soudha Thursday afternoon.
This move aims to promote sustainable tourism while ensuring the safety of trekkers and preserving Karnataka’s rich natural heritage.
