A 35-year-old tourist from Bengaluru lost his life at Talasi Abbi Falls in Yaduru of Hosanagar Taluk while attempting to take photographs, despite warnings and restrictions being in place. Ramesh, a manager at a private firm, was swept away by the strong current after losing his footing at the waterfall.

The incident has raised concerns about the effectiveness of safety measures and warnings at the site. The forest department had restricted access to the falls during the monsoon season due to high water levels, but Ramesh and his friends managed to visit the location.

A 20-second video of the incident has gone viral, showing Ramesh’s final moments. The footage captures the tragic event and highlights the risks of ignoring safety warnings.

The authorities have taken note of the incident, and the Nagara police station has documented the case. The body will be released after verification by Ramesh’s parents.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to safety warnings and respecting restricted areas. Despite the risks, some visitors continue to access the site, often with the help of local residents. The forest department’s efforts to protect the area, including constructing trenches, have not been enough to deter visitors.

The incident will likely lead to a review of safety measures and protocols in place at similar locations.
